Niantic Sportsmen's Club

Established in 1954 and incorporated in 1955, the Niantic Sportsmen's Club is located on over 300 forested acres in the Town of East Lyme in southeastern Connecticut.   With a membership of 850 men and women, the club's diverse, volunteer activities include recreational and competitive shooting sports, archery, fishing, and woodland-skill development and instruction.

A flourishing youth program introduces students to the safety and ethics of outdoor sports; its educators are experts from the club and the community who utilize state and national certification curricula.   Championship-level Junior competitors have become well-known throughout the northeast and at national matches, and the club hosts a major Junior tournament every December.

Social programs include regular dinners appropriate to the season, and weekly, informal get-togethers in the club lounge and hall which are organized by club volunteers.

The President of NSC has cancelled the Friday, March 13, meeting due to the recent events with the corona virus; it’s not worth the risk of illness transmission to put a large group of our people in the meeting room.   At this point the April 10 meeting and other events are still scheduled.  Contact organizers with any questions.  The current Horizon Bulletin is below.

Major congratulations go out to summer competitors representing NSC at national level events!

Rich Peters, known for his coordination of CMP clinics and matches on NSC territory, headed west to the National vintage-rifle Matches and took fifth out of 173 competitors in the Roosevelt Match at the CMP National Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio.  For this match, rifles are restricted to those Models adopted by the U.S. military and in service when Theodore Roosevelt was in office (i.e. 1892, 1896, and 1898 Krag Jorgensens and 1903 Springfields).

SPECIAL EVENTS...The Lounge Schedule will be updated periodically for major events or major hall rentals. The Indoor Range may be posted and closed to firearms practice for larger club events, hall-rental receptions, ceremonies, or classes.
